FAQ

Why customize a program?

Customizing a program is done for several reasons, including the necessity to meet specific needs. However, the most common reason for customization is for marketing purposes. The card acts as an additional promotional tool for your organization or group. When a customer uses your branded card it acts as a constant form of advertising. Although customization costs more, takes more time, and requires approval from the financial institution, it will (depending on your business and needs) pay for itself over time and is well worth it.

When can we expect to regain the cost of the program?

This depends on sales. Transactional revenue occurs in small increments, meaning you receive a little from every transaction. If your group is large you can expect to recover your costs much quicker than if your group is small. The most important thing is participation. During the process of establishing the program a thorough needs analysis must be conducted, which will determine the potential success or failure of your program. Debit card programs are not like car washes or bake sales; once the program is instituted, it requires ongoing attention because there are obligations and fees. Consequently, a careful evaluation will be necessary. A properly executed plan has the potential to be quite profitable.

How much will it cost to get your team involved?

This depends on the level of our involvement. At first, we will have a telephone consultation for free, which will establish the need and the course of action to be taken. You will be told up front about the costs, timeframe, and other monetary disbursement you may be expected to pay.

Who will provide customer service?

This depends on the program; most likely either the issuing financial institution or the processor will provide this service. However, there have been customers (see www.cogiccard.com ) that have handled this function themselves. During the process of establishing a need and a program outline, such matters will be covered. Other functions that will need to be decided on include, online support, telephone support, packaging, a help line, etc.
